Combat Engineer

I was employed as a combat engineer specializing in mine warfare, construction and demolitions. I have worked on various projects in times of peace and conflict. I was a qualified advanced driver and skid pan assistant at the military school of logistics. Permanent staff at the Royal Engineers school of combat engineering. I was a member of the Regimental MT inspection team, responsible for the statutory inspection of lifting equipment and mobile crane ancillaries.Review and update maintenance schedules. Proof load test, daily and monthly inspections as instructed. Daily and periodic inspection reports, general servicing and maintenance of MT lifting Fleet. Inspection of hydralic rams, ramps and jacks. Hydraulic hose inspection & electrical function tests on a daily basis.
Assistant Inspector

I was employed as an assistant inspector on the QA team at Bodycote`s Cambridge plant. I used a number of testing techniques including mixed acid etch in weld prep and visual inspection, leak testing and leak detection using air decay, helium or water submersible methods on pipes and pressure valves. Liquid penetrant testing on various heat treated surgical instruments. Hardness testing of various aerospace components using Rockwell, Vickers and micro‐hardness techniques. UT testing of welds, vacuum welding various pipes and plate fittings. Inspection of various MOD aerospace components to military codes and standards. Carry out Aero Steel acid etch inspection to ABP 1-1023 (BAE and Airbus UK ) standards. Carry out thermogrphic hot spot inspections on furnaces, pipework and electrical switchboxes and distribution units. Case hardening, Carburising, and Nitriding, De-carburising of various parts.

2007 – 2007 Pentra Inspection Ltd, Portsmouth

Assistant Inspector

Contract position as assistant inspector carrying out visual and NDT inspections of plate welds. Leak testing valves and pipe fittings. Visual inspection of various parts. Inspect lifting equipment such as snatch blocks, shackles, strops, slings and SWR.
