Application For the Post Of Accountant/Cost Accountant/Internal Auditor

I have been working at Industrial Clothings Limited (which comes under the group of Midas Safety (Toronto, Canada) with subsidiary companies all over the world, manufacturing safety products, sports gloves & shoes. There are four major factories in Sri Lanka region) from 2007 December to date. Currently I hold the position of Cost Accountant cum Internal Auditor.

During my stay at Industrial Clothngs Limited, I have been involved, at different capacities by handling the costing for all four factories in Sri Lanka region, which includes the following duties & responsibilities.
• Developed an In-House Costing Module with the help of IT team for all factories in Sri Lanka region.
• Computation of monthly overhead allocation for different product groups.
• Preparation & updating costing sheets based on updated consumption sheets prepared by Research department.
• Providing conversion cost to planning & coordination department for the purpose of pricing.
• Finalizing monthly as well as year end WIP & FG valuation and passing journal entries.
• Submission of managements reports such as monthly P & L, ratio analysis, product profitability analysis, customer wise profitability analysis reports……..



Under internal audit department, I performed the following duties & responsibilities.
• Performing monthly payroll audits for the group of companies before the final payment is released.
• Checking legal & statutory payments
• Checking the accuracy of employee perks & benefits.
• Checking the complete flow of procument & stores.
• Active participation in physical stock counts and checking the stock reconciliation various intervals.
• Identifying the slow moving & non-moving items to make specific provisions with management approval.
• Dealing with external auditors, different government bodies for statutory & other legal requirement.
• Authorizing payments before the approval of management and confirming the adjustments before posting.
• Handling loan policies relevant to employees as per company policy.

I got 3 A passes in Advanced Level Examination coducted by Examination Department of Sri Lanka and I have completed B.B.A (Bachelor of Business Administration) Degree in Faculty of Management & Finance at University of Colombo & Presently following CIMA (UK) Strategic Level (Chartered Institute of Management Accountant).

Since I have nearly two years of working experience in the field of manufacturing, I am well organized in my work and able to perform well even under minimum supervision. In addition, I am a good learner from the experience I gained. I would like to notice you that I am able to communicate in English, Tamil and Sinhala languages.
