I would like to further my career, working within a challenging environment that would enable me to use skills that have been highly developed throughout my current and previous occupations and provide opportunities for self-development.
Professional Experience
Sept. 2008 – June 2009
Integral Computing and Research Centre
Research Assistant (Intern)
• During this period, I worked with a team of software developers and programmers, to develop some software programmes, which are required for either academic or industrial purpose. This experience provided me a basic knowledge of VB6, VB.Net, Matlab, Excel programming, and MS Acess.
• I was actively involved in some engineering designs using AutoCAD as well as process modelling using Aspen HYSYS.
• This experience really sharpened my aptitude for problem-solving and three-dimensional conceptualisation, as well as my creativity and imagination.
Oct 2007- Sept 2008
Guinness Nigeria Plc
Project Officer (Intern)
• I was involved in a project captioned “engineering data and spares harmonization project”. Our aim was to simplify the organization’s business model.
• My specific roles were to present the equipment’s fuel consumption analysis and data in a written report, carryout an inventory control of the engineering spares, and attend to the logistics and procurement issues using MAXIMO suites.
• By launching and operating the SAP software, we were able to update and harmonize all the engineering data (including spares and consumables information) across Guinness locations in West-Africa.
• This experience enhanced my team-working, communication, and organizational skills, as well as my ability to deal with problems in stressful situations.
Sept 2006 – Sept 2007
National Youth Service Corps
Corps Member
• During this period, I assisted with teaching final-year secondary (high) school students that were preparing to write the SSCE/GCE O-level exams. I taught them mathematics, chemistry and geography.
• I also served as a leader in a community development service programme. Here, I motivated and mobilized my colleagues to organize some enlightenment and humanitarian programmes that will aid rural development in Nigeria. Some of our projects included: organizing free computer training, poverty eradication and environmental awareness programmes to members of our host communities. Consequently, I was awarded a “Certificate of National Service” by the Nigerian Government.
• Participating in the national service really improved my leadership, team-working and presentation skills.
