Previous to Sudan I was employed in Iraq with the roll of survey supervisor. We were under contract to multiple clients with interests in the region. Projects were 2 d regional both vibroseis and dynamite. Ranging from hi mountain terrain to the wide open low lands. The Iraqi projects were dynamic in relation to security as well as operational concerns. It proved both challenging and rewarding.
Previous to Iraq, I contracted in Tanzania for a period of 9 months on Regional 2d land based projects in coastal Tanzania. My role was Chief land surveyor and my duties were inclusive of pre planning, scouting, mapping and liaising with local Government agencies and client.

Previously in Canada prior to Bird Dog work, I worked in the seismic industry for 25 years in all aspects of acquisition with the exception of the dog house. Started on line crew and advanced through the ranks and settled in survey and then finally in front end management.
After completing my survey education in 1994 I worked as senior surveyor on both 2d and 3d conventional winter projects and heli portable in summer/fall seasons for eight years my duties included layout and design or remodeling.
Also crew supervision and processing of up to 30, two man conventional heli portable survey crews as well as supervision of power saw crews for line construction and positioning on heli, and heavy equipment on winter programs.
For a period of six years I was an independent seismic survey contractor with as many as 20 crew and my clients were primarily smaller juniors and consulting firms and a couple geophysical contractors. We provided services ranging from permitting, scouting, buried underground facility location, survey, drilling and front end project management, administration and client liaison on both 2d and 3d projects.
My recent years have been more in positioning QC, Bird dog, and management.
