Evaluation and completion of modification proposals through judgment based on API and ASME codes, detail calculations and drawings, report writing, presentation and obtaining approval from the appropriate authority. Supervision of the execution of the modification works by coordinating the works of various execution departments.

Optimization through Linear Programming – the refinery performance, long range and short-term operation planning, product blending control, fuel, utility and chemicals consumption.

Operation of petroleum oil refining process consisting of Atmospheric Distillation Unit, MEROX, Pre-treatment and Catalytic Reforming Unit and Asphaltic Bitumen Plant.

Trouble-shooting of major problems. Identification of operational bottlenecks and formulate remedial measures.

Material and Energy balances done on both reactive and non-reactive processes.

Preparation of production schedule, shut-down schedule and specialized activities such as furnace decoking and catalysts loading-activation-regeneration.

Laboratory tests of petroleum products ( both on-line and finished products )
to ensure quality of products as well as optimal running of plants.

B. Sc. in Chemical Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering
and Technology ( BUET ), Dhaka, Bangladesh, in 1991. Secured 1st class 8th position with 66% of total marks.

Dame College, Dhaka, Bangladesh in 1984. Obtained First Division with distinction in two subjects and secured 72.2% of the total marks.
