•Perform routine preventive maintenance and ensure that machines and equipment continue to run smoothly.
• Usually work long hours on extended roster systems outdoors in all weather conditions, as a member of a crew of various people of different nationalities.
• Assist in building, setting up, taking down and transporting drilling rig.
• Operate and maintain drilling rig diesel engines, compressors and other mechanical equipments.
• Install, align, assemble or dismantle, clean, lubricate, move, troubleshoot, inspect, examine, maintain, test, adjust and repair or replace defective parts of power transmission, vacuum, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, machinery and mechanical equipment, such as pumps, fans, tanks, conveyors, furnaces and generators using hand and power tools, and welding equipment.

• Operate hoisting and lifting devices such as cranes, jacks and tractors to position machinery and parts during the installation, set-up and repair of machinery
• Operate machine tools such as lathes and grinders to fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance or set-up of machinery
