February 2006 – HYDER CONSULTING, MIDDLE EAST
December 2009 Worked as Structural Engineer assigned in various Middle East Offices as enumerated below. Designed complex high rise residential buildings, hotels, condominiums,etc. Modeled, analyzed, and designed structures using ETABS, STAAD, STRAND7 and SAFE. Used engineering design software such as PROKON, PCACOL, RAPT, etc. Used building design codes such as BS, ACI, UBC, ASCE, CIRIA, IBC, and AS Code for structural design and calculation of design wind and seismic loads. Designed structural elements such as flat slabs, slabs, beams, columns, deep beams, shear walls, rafts, pile caps, basement walls, water retaining structures, etc. Prepared and
checked structural drawings to ensure information shown is correct. Prepared design
criteria and calculations for submission to client. Programmed various spreadsheets for
special design cases. Assigned as ARE for FAD Shams, Abu Dhabi answering RFIs
and checking shop drawings for approval.

Worked as Junior Structural Engineer. Analyzed and designed industrial and
commercial structures such as factories, power plants, warehouses, 5-storey buildings,
car showrooms, and equipment foundations. Modeled, analyzed, and designed
structures using ETABS and STAAD. Value engineered warehouses and steel
structures. Prepared structural design criteria and calculations for building permit
requirements. Also
drafted various structural drawings, contour maps, drainage plans using. AUTOCAD
software.
Projects involved: Negros 40MW Geothermal Power Plant, Dubai Monorail,
Sakamoto Orient Chemicals, Rio Tuba Coral Bay Nickel Project, Honda
Motorcycle Factory, SMC Vietnam, Subaru Car Showroom, Toshiba Factory,
Nidec Factory, Hoya Factory, and Philip Morris Factory.
