2 Applying tests on mud to control the properties.
3 Maintaining the well bore stability by controlling mud density to prevent excessive mud invasion and damaging the formation.
4 Controlling the fluid loss to the formation by adding proper chemicals with certain concentrations to prevent the BHA sticking in the well bore and applying the suitable test.
5 Treatment of the mud, when needed, to maintain requirement of mud properties.
