Lead EHS Engineer

I wish to broaden my work experience and skills by operating in the Middle East/Libya etc in the power/oil/gas/petro/chem sectors in the capacity of an environmental, health and safey role.

My job remit as the Lead Environmental, Health & Safety Manager/Engineer is to ensure that all the risks and impacts from all processes, plant, equipment, products, services or any activities on customer’s site are assessed and controlled.
Trained in the implementation of, HFAT, CDM Regs, COMAH Regs, HAZAN and HAZOP level 5 Safety Inspections).
To provide support to Alstom Thermal Power & EPC installation/maintenance department, specific customer contract and supplier development activities (sub-contractors and consultants) by providing EHS audits and audit support, including regular assessment of operations, management systems and procedures and by establishing a Safety Management System to ensure compliance with this policy and applicable laws/regulations, by considering the EHS impact to any changes of existing practices.
Supporting and driving the EHS systems on all sites including supervision of other EHS personnel: ensuring positions are staffed to the right level; developing people’s competencies, training, coaching, and supporting actions in the field. Supporting Power Plant projects (Steam & Gas Turbines, Generators, Boilers and BOP) as project EHS Manager/Engineer for all projects (Inc INEOS Chlor/Fluor Chemical plants) assigned to Alstom.
I am responsible for co-chairing of the JEHSC meetings and ensuring that programs and processes are developed and implemented to ensure that all work taking place at any facility is carried out in a safe manner and to provide advice, oversight and gatekeeper functions at all times.
Ensuring continual improvement of processes and their interfaces regarding their compliance within the requirements and best practise of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 standards.

I have also completed new build and retrofit EPC work for Alstom Thermal Systems (Knutsford) on three Hydrogen powered boilers in the Chlorine and KOH section of Ineos Chlor chemical plant – Runcorn (2007-09) under the Control of Major Accidents and Hazards Regs. (COMAH).
