Professional Experience
As a Marine Surveyor I draw on my experience of having worked in the marine industry for 23 years, during this time I have covered all aspects of this work environment, including having trained as a navigator and marine executive later on.
In my past and present jobs I have:
conducted ISM and condition surveys for P&I;
statutory surveys on behalf of the flag administrations;
performed regular fleet inspections and company audits, raised non-conformity, near miss and anomalies through appropriate support;
organized and controlled major functions relating to the technical operations of the fleet and department administration through subordinates;
managed and led the fleet of bulk carriers, reefers, MPP and container ships;
contracted shipyards for ship docking and repairs (Europe and Asia);
solved critical problems related to operational and technical issues;
developed and implemented ISO 9002 and SMS systems, policies and plans.
I am motivated, disciplined and responsible person; therefore, my tactical and analytical mindsets with the ability to handle market challenges allows me to work successfully both in a team and independently; able to deal with and find best solutions in various conflict situations.
A winner’s mentality and unique blend of experience in ship handling, technical management and shipping finances grants me success in completing projects and assignments of the high importance on time and within the budget.
