mechanical engineer (Piping)

Working in Jubail Independent Water and Power Project at Jubail, KSA for Technical Sources as Mechanical Engineer (piping) from (SEP 2008 to Still) for client Hyundai Heavy Industries, and Korea.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Studying the piping and instrument diagrams (P&ID) and identifying the pipelines and systems.
• Studying the pipe rack drawings and identifying the structural elements and systems.
• Inspection (quantity, quality, item code) for materials and reporting to purchaser when defective materials are found.
• Inspection (location, elevation, dimension, condition) for foundations and base structures.
• Chipping on the surfaces of foundations and fixing levelling pads and curing.
• Bolting and torque inspection.
• Issuing construction drawing to contractor and executions of fabrication &installation of piping /structural works inspection of fit-up co-ordination with client’s inspectors.
• Co-ordination with in –house stores for material follow up and tracking progress.
• Monitoring & reporting mechanical clearance for hydro testing, pneumatic testing and RT clearances.
• Prepare method statement procedure for fabrication /erection and pressure testing of Piping and co-ordinate with client for the approval.
• Supervision of pipe erection for different piping systems.
• Instruments installed in pipelines are control valves, temperature transmitter, pressure Transmitter, flow measuring differential transmitter, rotary equipments etc.
• Co-ordinate overall project execution plan to meet the targeted schedule.
• Prepare the documents for the QC activities and test packages .update all QC activities and prepare the test packages status and progress.
• Informing the QA/QC dept .when the fit-up inspection by client / consultant forwarding the same to the welding dept. for inspection of the welding of the fit-up approved joints.
• Perform inspection of fit –ups and dimensional as per isometric and specifications.
• Verification of closed punch items and contact walk through for each completed piping system prior to mechanical acceptance.
• Perform line checking as per hydro test package to ensure that the entire punch list are rectified and corrected completely as per inspector sign off
• Work permit receiver(LOTO)for lock out and tag out with commission work and shutdown work
