Role: - worked within a team of Engineering/ Business consultants on various energy installation projects around the Federal Capital Territory and assisting on other general administration work.

Skills gained: - developed further my organisational and management skills.

Process Engineer – Work Placement

Role: - Responsibility within the company was as an industrial student within the Process Science Group. I was based in the cleaning section for the manufacturing hygiene programme. Project was on cleaning process that could facilitate effluent waste reduction through more accurate quantification of cleaning processes.

Key Skills: - Clean-in-place is important in process plants in order to avoid cross contamination which could cause unnecessary quality defects. Improved organisational skills and acquired new skills in data analysis.

June 2005 – August 2005 Aker Kvaerner Offshore Partner Limited, Aberdeen
Process Engineer – Student Internship

Role: - Worked in a team of process engineers on East Foinaven, Schiehallion FPSO and British gas projects. Also a team member for HAZOP studies on Gas Infrastructure Upgrade project.

Key Skills: - Developed understanding of the illustrative parameter guide words used when carrying out HAZOP studies; the importance of operating within a safe environment in the oil/gas industry. Effective communication and team work improved my communication, technical and problem solving skills. I acquired new skills in time management.
