Professional Experience
01/2007-Present: ABS Americas, Offshore Engineering Department, Houston, Texas. Designation: Engineer II.
I am currently working on plan review (checking/detailing) of Drilling Equipment designs generated for use on different types of ABS classed marine vessels. The work involved coordinating with customers to insure designs are modeled and detailed correctly, certifying shop drawings to API design codes, writing stress analysis & compliance reports, working with designers and liaison personnel;
Experience with equipment from vendors such as NOV, Cameron, Hydril, Vetco Gray, Oil States, Rowan Companies, T-3 Energy Services, Gardner Denver, MI Swaco, and Parker Hannifin.
Designs Reviewed: Top Drives, Mud pumps, Rotary Tables, Drawworks, BOPs (Annular, Rams), BOP/Diverter Systems -Surface & Subsea Stacks, Riser Equipment: Flex Joints, Well Head Connectors Running tools, Choke and Kill Manifolds, Hose Assemblies, MUX Reels, Stabs, High pressure Gate Valves, Mud Valves, Shale Shakers, Hydraulic Power Units, Pipe Handling Equipment (Roughnecks, Elevators), Hoisting Equipment (Sheaves, Hooks, Ropes, Brakes, Couplings) etc.
The details of work are as below:
1) Review and approval of design drawings/documents/material test reports.
2) Review/evaluate design drawings, calculations, and test procedures, including review of manufacturer data to verify load ratings of components.
3) Review and approval of: Equipment Datasheets, Equipment List, Mechanical design of pressure vessels, valve summary, piping list etc.
4) Coordination with other departments/Projects/Shipyard/Customer.
Working Knowledge of the following Codes: Relevant industry standards consisting of various API Specs and API RP's, consisting of the following:
1) API 8C, 6A, 16D, 16R, 16F, 7K, 7, 6AV, and codes or recommended practices governing the sizing selection and installation of wellhead and x-mas tree equipment.
2) ASME Section VIII div. 1 & div. 2
Pressure Vessel Work& Other related Work:
1) Experience with rating and sizing heat exchangers, pressure vessels, fired heaters, in accordance with ASME VIII Div 1 using COMPRESS Software.
2)Experience with packaging or skid design, knowledge of piping and pipe schedules, flanges and fittings 3) Experience with control systems.
