Professional Experience
Technical Safety - Assistant Engineer
Contracted to the Shell EP Europe operation and am responsible for the overall control and management of the suite of Safety Case and Performance Standard documentation for all Shell UK Operations Asset groups with the Shell EP Europe organisation.
This role includes the overall administration of documentation for 16 Assets to meet Shell’s legislative obligations in the Safety Case (SC) and Performance Standards (PS) arena. This administration includes the assessment of change, development of impact documentation, the management of change and publication.
The revised documents are then published within the Shell organisation and to the Health & Safety Executive (H&SE) where necessary.
The objective of my role is to provide support and assistance to senior engineers in order to achieve efficiency in the management of these key documents and other safety engineering studies.
Technical Safety - Junior Engineer
Contracted to the Shell Expro support division and was responsible for the administration of Change Proposals (CPs) for all engineering changes within the Shell Brent and Northern business unit (9 platforms). Duties included logging and progress tracking of all CPs, assessment of CP documentation for Safety Case and Verification Scheme impact. Subsequent review and mark-up of such documentation to incorporate identified impacts. Review of environmental impact of CPs and completion of Environmental Impact Assessments.
H2S Technician
Overall Responsibility for the installation, operational controls and maintenance of containerised H2S (hydrogen sulphide) breathing air systems in the oil and gas industry both in the UK and overseas. Within remit was the training of client personnel in the use of breathing apparatus, hazards and properties of H2S and the implementation of specific emergency procedures.
Breathing Apparatus Technician
Responsible for the operation of an approved hydro/pressure testing facility for all Breathing Apparatus. Further responsibilities included the supervision and training of workshop personnel. This role also included the inspection and testing of compressed gas containers, the service, maintenance and testing of gas detectors, breathing apparatus, compressors and a wide range of respiratory equipment both on and offshore.

HNC Mechanical & Offshore Engineering and 12 of 14 follow up HND modules. Elements included drawing and design, thermodynamics, heat transfer and fluid mechanics, materials and manufacture, organisational and communicative skills for incorporated engineers.

Additional Information
I have been working in the oil and gas sector for approx 14 years with 8 of those in my current role. In this time, I believe I have gained many skills, which can be applied and would be beneficial in any working environment. I have worked independently and as part of a team making use of my organisational, communication and interpersonal skills. I am able to apply my skills to a wide variety of problems to find a pragmatic solution and am receptive to new ideas and methods in order to attain sound solutions. I am trustworthy, hard working and feel I would be an asset to any organisation, large or small.
