Senior Shift Production/QC Technician –Jun 2009/Present
GE Healthcare – The Grove Centre, White Lion Road, Amersham. Bucks. HP5 9LL.
Working within their main production facility, manufacturing a short lived isotope fluorodeoxyglucose for patient release. This involves setting up, maintaining and operating equipment used for the production of FDG within a class A-C cleanroom. Routine Maintanence and calibration to GMP standards. Record keeping and problem solving is also an essential criteria for this post.
Alternatively, trained within their QC department testing products prior to release using a range of chemical and microbiological techniques to GLP standards. These techniques includes: Agilent 1200 HPLC, Ion exchange HPLC (Dionex), Gas Chromatography, Gamma Spectroscopy and a Gel clot method to determine the levels of endotoxin present within the sample.
Other duties include checking and releasing batch records. Dealing with engineers if any problems should occur. Maintaining all log books and batch records to ensure compliance with the MRHA standards..
QC Senior Technician – Aug 2006/2009

Using a range of wet chemistry techniques to determine the levels of impurities seen in various products in different radioactive nuclides to GMP standards. This includes liquid chromatography, HPLC, Polography, liquid scintillation counter, NMR, UV, IR, GC and RCP testing.
Working within a fast paced environment to ensure product release of short lived isotopes i.e. Tc99m, In111 and Tl-201. To follow strict protocols, ensuring minimum exposure of radioactivity to myself and those around. To carry out product testing safely and cautiously to minimise potential contamination of radionuclides within the lab area.
Discussing product failures with QP’s, and writing investigation reports.
Gathering data from different departments to ensure products are released on time.
Using QPR to enter batch data specific for product release.
Competent to train other members of staff in radiological testing.
