Qatar Engineering and Construction Company (QCON)

Working as an instrumentation engineer with the mentioned company (QCON) which is one of the main oil and gas contractors in Qatar and I had a chance to participate in the following projects as an instrumentation site engineer:
1. Qatar Chemicals (QCHEM) company major shutdown Dec.2007 – Mar.2008
2. Qatar Fertilizers (QAFCO) company at a main project: Apr.2008 - present
QAFCO Melamine and Urea-1 revamping project
In the mentioned projects my duty as an instrumentation engineer was to:
• Supervise manpower and solve technical engineering issues that may occur while executing the job.
• Holding different types of instruments including transmitters (different types), DCS and PLC panels inside the control room.
• Performing tie in work.
• Laying different types and sizes of instrument cables.
• Establishing fire and gas detection systems.
• Calibration of instruments and valves using the HART communicator.
• Calibration of gauges using dead weight tester.
• Coordination with client and planning for the over all activities.
• Maintaining any kind of instruments
• Dealing with the electronic circuits of all instruments
