BP Zhuhai Chemical Co. Ltd
May 2006--Present
• Took part in new unit pre-commissioning, commissioning and startup.
• As Field/DCS (Distributed Control System) Operator, performed startup and shutdown of the unit independently.
• As an AA (Area Authority), issued PTW (Permit To Work) daily.
• Led new unit staff training, especially for the detailed DCS graphic training.
• Led in unit optimization and variable cost reduction such as system steam optimization and system water re-use.
• Familiar with BP safety practices such as BP eight golden rules and HAZOP analysis.

Field/DCS Operator and Measurement Specialist.
BP ARCO China Inc., 2001-2006.
• As field/DCS platform operator, performed unit pre-commissioning, commissioning and startup, and operation of the unit safely and smoothly.
• As a measurement specialist, responsible for natural gas quality control and assurance, ensure the product quantity is accurately measured and calculated by international standards such as API (American Petroleum Institute) and AGA (American Gas Associate) standards, strictly following the HSE rules.
• In charge of all kinds of measurement deviation issues, making sure such issues were addressed efficiently and effectively.

Operator, Petrochemical Engineer and Supervisor
SINOPEC Jianghan Refinery, 1992-2000
Sinopec is the largest petrochemical company in China and Jianhan Refinery Plant processes crude oil from Jianghan Oilfield and produce gas and other byproducts. I worked first as Operator and promoted to Petrochemical Engineer and Supervisor in 2006 and 2007 respectively.
• Worked in high sulfur oil atmosphere distillation unit and Jelly unit.
• Implemented Jelly unit design, construction, unit pre-commissioning, commissioning and startup.
• Proposed and designed a new barrel washer which used recoverable oil as washing medium instead of hot water, greatly reduced steam consumption and waste water discharge quantity.
• Led the process modification of adopting Activated Clay instead of Sulfuric Acid as a purification medium to refine Medical Jelly, which greatly reduced costs and at the same time beneficial to the environment.
