Senior Contracts Engineer
Working for the Client on the construction of onshore oil and gas pipelines, each approximately 850km long, complete with all associated works. Contract value >$3Billion. Specific duties included resolving contractual issues with the E.P.C. Contractor; processing interim payments; preparation of Contract Amendments and Variations; tracking Approved Contract Value (ACV); preparation of documentation to Tender Board, Board of Directors and Shareholders for approval of ACV increases etc; preparation of internal reports including Value of Work Done (VOWD), attendance at the construction camps / work locations throughout Sakhalin to deal with specific issues.
In January 2007, the contract was amended from a fixed price lump sum to a reimbursable cost basis. Initial responsibility was to prepare an Interim Final Account for all work carried out during the lump sum contract phase. Role then extended to include review of Procurement and Sub-Contract documentation prepared by the EPC Contractor; submission of high value Sub-Contracts / P.O’s to a Tender Committee for approval; preparation of contract documentation; supervision and close-out of all Direct Contracts associated with Onshore Pipelines.
