Absorption of CO2 from solution favors high pressure and low temprature.
Process gas (N2, H2, CO2 etc ) after passing through stripper reboilers and
knock out drum come at above ( 8th tray ) of the absorber with 22 kg/cm2
and 130 oC temprature respectively. After this counter current flow , CO2
absorbs in solution anf process gas come out at the top at 90 oC and 0.1%
CO2. At the bottom the solution containing absorbed CO2 is rich solution
send to both strippers after letdowning its pressure from 22 kg/cm2 to
0.6 % kg/cm2 in hydrolic turbine which drives semi lean solution pump.Stripping of CO2 from solution favors low pressure and high temperature.
Each stripper contains 44 seive trays & 2 top bubble cap tray.Solution come
in from the top and extracted from middle (19th tray) and bottom called
semi lean and lean solution respectively. Four thermosiphen type reboilers
are installed at botto to heatup the solution by passing high temprature process
gas in tubes of reboilers. CO2 strip out from top of stripper at common line
with 120 oC and 0.6 kg/cm2. Present Job: I am employed with Engro Polymer & Chemicals LTD in Vinyl Chloride project producing 150000 tons/year by Poly Vinyl Chloride using Polymerization Reaction. ETHYLENE DI CHLORIDE (EDC) AND VINYLE CHLORIDE MONOMER (VCM) is 1st largest Petrochemical Complex in Pakistan. I was actively involved with Consortium during project construction stage & planning process preparedness (Start up, Operating, Emergency procedures), Inspection of Vessels/columns & generating non-conformities, Pre-commissioning activities & successful product out, Monitor activities for timely & smooth commissioning. I got exposed to various tools/techniques & procedures for effective commissioning.

Current responsibility includes, our edc/vcm plant consist of following areas.
• Ltc (low temperature chlorination)
• Oxy chlorination
• Cracking of edc (furnace)
• Purification of edc (distillation)
• Storage of edc (dry and crude edc tank)
• Vcm storage (04 bullets )
• Waste water management
• Inceneration of heavy components and vents
