Additional Information
I have recently completed a challenging contract position as General Manager based in East Timor working with the various Armed Forces, United Nations and numerous NGO’s and contractors, including Patrick’s Defence logistics (PDL/toll) Responsibilities included ensuring all areas ran smoothly with regards to the H.S.S.E, QA/QC, engineering and logistical support in this potentially volatile country. I was also tasked with the direct controls needed for all aspects of the company operational costs and budget implementation. It also entailed the training of Timorese, Indonesian and foreign nationals, to comply with international and local governmental legislation, new safety measures to the highest International standards along with taxation and immigration laws. These were conducted in both English and Indonesian languages.
Having lived in Indonesia as a British Ex-patriot for sixteen years I am fully aware of the various cultural differences / sensitivities and speak fluent Bahasa Indonesia.
I now wish to move back into a primary industry and utilise my strengths gained in the downstream oil field when I was with British Petroleum to better effect.
An ideal move for me would be into the upstream sector having a Logistics Manager’s degree, have been involved in mechanical (and marine) engineering all my working life and have been actively working in HSSE.
