Additional Information
I am one of the six students selected to represent my Institute in Spirit Global Design Challenge 2009, where we were sent to attend the first meeting in Wichita, USA for two weeks. This challenge involves International Collaboration together with students from Wichita State University, USA and University of Manchester, UK. Our design project is related to futuristic commercial aircraft wing. The overall result of this project is base on the collaboration of the whole team. Through this challenge, not only have I learnt useful technical knowledge but valuable soft skills as well.
Besides, I have recently completed another project “USM Taekwondo Open Championship 2010” as the Project Secretary. It was the first Taekwondo tournament held in Engineering Campus. Together with the Project Director, we experience fundamental management skills, facilitating different tasks to different candidates according to their strength. Ensuring all members posses a sense of belonging, and constantly motivate them for better performance. My part in this project involves dealing with USM officers, observing university protocol, approaching private sectors for sponsorship, follow-up on invited clubs, administrative work, etc. We have around 180 participants from 21 public institutes, private institutes and clubs around Malaysia.
