Working for an international Oil and Gas company as an Underground services Civil/Piping Lead Engineer

Senior Underground services Civil/Piping Engineer responsible for reviewing and designing underground piping and drainage systems (gravity and flooded) taking into consideration relevant features of other underground services, engineered and designed by others that may have impact on the design of the underground piping systems.

Responsibilities and duties:
Designing all gravity/flooded drainage systems in the plant and that
Includes:

• Choosing pipe sizes, slopes, elevations, man holes and catch basins locations and the best routing of the piping net work in the plant for Oily Sewer open drains, rain fall sewers and sanitary system. (Have good experience in designing gravity systems and flooded systems including weir de-sign)
• Dividing paved areas in the plant to catchments areas, to col-lect rain fall and fire water. That includes choosing the slope of the pavement, the location of water catch basins and de-signing the cross section and the slope of concrete channels, if required.
• Designing the potable water net work and that includes, choosing the network piping size, the suitable routing and the potable water pumps head required.
• Choosing the best routing in the plant for closed drain, fire water and any other pressurized under ground buried syssystem. Best routing is choosing the suitable depth, shortest routing, fulfilling the function it is there for, accessible for fu-ture maintenance and supervision and to be free of under ground clashes.
• Preparing Standard Details for Manholes, Catch basins, Manhole Vents, fire hydrants Post Guards, Valve pits,….,etc.
• Preparing composite drawings to make sure that there is no conflicts between under-ground structures (structural founda-tions, Electrical and Instrument cable trenches, pipes, etc…) and if there is a conflict, suggesting the best solution coope-rating with other engineering departments.
• Using the (PDS and PDMS) program in modeling all under ground piping systems, civil foundations and extracting un-derground composite drawing and isometrics and bulk of ma-terial automatically from the model.
