Career Objective
A position that provides with enough experience and challenge to set me on the path towards a promising career.
Professional Experience
I have recently graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the American University in Cairo (December 2009). I have during my undergraduate period undergone two internships at the 6th October Industrial sector. One was at IEP electronic industries where I was rotated between different departments over the course of two weeks. The other was at AMI diesel generator manufacturers where for three weeks I was assigned to the maintenance department. This assignment largely consisted of overseeing the overhaul of units brought in for regular maintenance. After having applied to and being shortlisted for several multinational recruitment events at Siemens, National Gas, Baker Hughes, Schnedier Electric and Tenaris, I finally found employment as of last November at a local cardboard manufacturing plant (Finepac) where I am currently employed as a production engineer.
Eductation
I have recently graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the American University in Cairo (December 2009). I have undertaken several supplementary courses not directly related to my field of specialization. These include courses from power, mechatronics, industrial, design, and materials engineering. The greatest benefit from undertaking these courses has been, besides a greater exposure to other disciplines, a greater appreciation for a multi-disciplinary approach to any given problem. And while problem solving is always the target of any engineering program, the inclusion of a large team based project at the end of each of these courses has firmly ingrained in oneself the need for multiple viewpoints when it comes to meeting everyday needs.
