Commercial/ Legal Executive

I am looking forward for a suitable opportunity in the contracts field wherein I can make the most of the gained experience working for a Dubai Government company and bring forward my contribution.

-Perusing and analyzing the terms and condition of the contracts with various suppliers, service providers, contractors and recommending variations and/or negotiating of specific clauses in order to be compliant with the standard Governmental terms and conditions, as stipulated by DEWA decree and Dubai civil and commercial laws.
-I was part of the team in charge with analysis of the Authority’s Contractor claims by summoning weekly and monthly meetings with the internal engineering departments alongside Contractor’s representative team.
-Reviewing the claims and formulating a report and/ or memo by drawing the conclusion from the original commercial and contractual terms and conditions comparison against the actual stage of the project works.
-Interacting with the Engineering Consultant which acts as a neutral party in order to identify the truthfulness of the raised claims and entitlement of the Contractor for additional payment/ time extension taking into consideration the internal department opinion in the matter.Consulting the standards of the FIDIC contract when perusing the claims.
-Site inspections and attending in-house technical training on the latest developments in the energy sector in general and power plants in particular, as well as a special nuclear energy introduction course.
-Upon consultation with the Human Resources department, reviewing and updating the HR Policies and Procedures Manual, compliance policy, addressing different and various of DEWA’s employees concerns.
-Perusing on a regular basis the latest in Dubai legal framework development, interacting with various Government departments whenever needed and drafting letters (in English) for a timely submittal to the concerned departments such as Dubai Police, Dubai Prosecution, Dubai Courts, DCCI, etc.
-Being part of the team in charge with referring the terms of agreement between Ducab and DEWA.
-In depth analysis of the GCC Inter-Connection Agreement, the Grid concluded between federal and local authorities viz. FEWA, DEWA, SEWA, ADWEA and TRANSCO.
-Interacting with the external clients whenever need arises in drafting of a complex finance agreement with various banks under Islamic Sharia banking rules and regulations, as to date in Dubai.
