Professional Experience
working experience as petroleum geochemist and basin modeler. My proven abilities include petroleum geology and organic geochemistry. Background includes regional geology, source rock evaluation and prediction (richness, quality and maturity), organic geochemistry of source rocks and crude oils and numerical basin modeling (geological model definition, thermal and hydrocarbon generation modeling, fluid flow modeling, pressure prediction using basin modeling, sensitivity analysis by means of uncertainty in
basin modeling. I largely used softwares of Temis, Petromod and Genesis and basinmod in the evaluation of petroleum system of sedimentary basin and risk assessment in oil and gas trapping.
Knowledge in using Petroleum Biomarkers Indicative of Source Rock Organic Matter Input and Depositional Conditions and to ass source of thermal maturity. Controls on the Gas-Oil Ratio in a Petroleum Accumulation in relation to source and migration factors like fault sealing and reservoirs alterations. Effects of Oil Biodegradation.
Current responsibilities include various exploration activities related to basin modeling software application as well as petroleum systems analysis using geochemical techniques and basin modeling in various sedimentary basins. Depending on the sophistication of the model (and of the data upon which the model is based), the basin model may help the petroleum geologist in larges issues such as:
• The timing of hydrocarbon generation relative to the timing a trap formation.
• The volumes of hydrocarbons delivered to a trap.
• The hydrocarbon type (liquid vs. gas and their relative proportions) likely to be currently present in the trap.
• The physical properties (PVT) of the hydrocarbon charge.
• The possible migration paths to the prospect.
• The possible post-charge loss of hydrocarbons from the trap (leakage through seal, tilt and spill of trap, thermal cracking, biodegradation, etc.).
