WELDING ENGINEER

„« Evaluating the total quality control for the fabrication and erection of structural plates of low alloy steels.

„« Inspection of incoming raw materials and reviewing the heat number, external damage and material specifications like thickness and length of the plate etc,.
„« Inspection of different methods of welding processes like SMAW, GTAW, GMAW etc. , filler rods for different materials, welding procedure qualification as per ASME Sec-IX.
„« Witnessing the welding activities as per WPS, PQR and Quality System Procedure.
„« Witnessing the welder qualification test for the welders.
„« Monitoring the welder‘¦s performance weekly and recording the daily welding rejection rate.
„« Rapporting with the welders about the techniques, to improve the quality of welding.
„« Follow up with contractors for stage wise inspections like fit-ups, weld visuals, NDT and verification of test certificates.
„« Looking the field plate inspections like weld edge preparation, set up, weld visual, Dye penetrant test, Radiographic test etc.
„« Visual inspection of completed weld joints as per specifications like reinforcement,
Weld- width, perpendicularity & also find out the weld defects in weld zone like arc strikes, pin holes, undercuts, porosity, fusion defects etc.
„« Inspecting the Weld Visual and Dye ‘V Penetrant test for the welds which have defective segments & repair portions, which are found in the RT stage.
„« Monitoring the calibration status of welding machines, inspection tools and quivers.
„« Witnessing the hydro test and pneumatic test including the verification that pressure gauges have adequate dial guage ranges and are calibrated.
„« FDI of various structures like Pressure Hull, Outer Hull, Decks, Tanks, Bulkheads, Foundations.
„« Preparing the QA/QC Dossier for the project assist document turnover and transmittal during the project completion.

2.) ASNT LEVEL-II IN RADIOGRAPHIC TESTING, ULTRASONIC TESTING, PENETRANT TESTING AND MAGNETIC PARTICLE TESTING
