Emergency Response Competence & Development 2008 – 2010
Responsible for focussing on the systems and re-structure, gap analysis, development, implementation and management of the Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria Ltd Emergency Response Service (ERS) intensive operational training, which consisted of approximately two hundred personnel while liaising directly to Regional Vice President level management.

ERS learning and development included; incident command and station management procedures, fire fighting, search and rescue techniques, major facility and pipeline hydrocarbon fire fighting procedures. Development of the ERS Operational Procedural Manual and all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) for use within all Shell facilities such as oil & gas terminals (tank farms and gas plants), high rise office buildings, industrial and residential areas across Nigeria.

Training, supervision and management of ERS Divisional Fire Trainers in providing theory and practical fire training at ERS stations and to company staff across Shell Companies in Nigeria (SCiN).

Coordination and supervision of advanced fire fighter training to Fire-fighters from the Rivers State Fire Service.

Ensuring full compliance at all times by remaining in-line with company Occupational Health & Safety requirements, company, national and international legislation.

I have recently returned home to Melbourne after nearly five years working in West Africa for a major oil & gas company. During this time my responsibilities included Emergency Response competence and development, implementation and management of Fire Service incident command and station management across all company assets and facilities including major operational oil and gas facilities.
