Reservoir / Petroleum Engineer

Ideal workplace for me is where you can feel yourself as a human being, doing an interesting and challenging job, working with interesting people, continuosly developing yourself both professionally and intelectually.

I was assigned to the Schlumberger company with Drilling Engineering program, that is to have an experience working as MWD/LWD then cross to DD and finally start working as DE in 3 years time period.
Being a quick learner with a strong desire of constant development is very helpful in that kind of program.
I had very short pre-school period but managed to learn the basics of profession to pass the entrance exam and finish the school with quite good results.
Working as MWD/LWD I managed to lead a job, planning it from very beginning till the end, to do rig up, rig down, handle all the paperwork, plan the equipment and breakout engineers with less seniority.
After being promoted to Field Engineer I was exposed to resistivity, nuclear and sonic jobs, participating from planning stage till data delivery as well.
I was at the stage of crossing to DD when decided to shift from the field to the office job.

Working in Schlumberger I was able to work with people from different countries which was a great contribution to my life and work experience.
Working on the rig, whether it is offshore or onshore, is closely related to a person’s ability to maintain good relationship with other people even in stressful situations which are usual to the rig.
There can be situations when the right decision has to be taken in a very short period of time and it has to be done with a respect to the point of view of others without sacrificing your own.
Furthermore, maintaining good level of the job, good relationship in a professional manner with your management, client representative, rig crew, and being good member of the teamwork should not be just a part of responsibility but a part of a person’s culture towards the work, and I believe that I am among that kind of people.
