teaching, reserch , development in oil and energy industries
Professional Experience
Currently, I am working as a Teaching Fellow at Aberdeen University/ College of Engineering. I supervised MSc student in thermal Engineering area to study Natural convection heat transfer in enclosed annulus using CFD simulation. I am a coordinator for Integrated Mechanical design course (thermal and mechanical design of internal combustion engine). I am also contributing to MSc students teaching of Flow Assurance, Stress Analysis and Engineering Science subjects. I am also supervising 2 undergraduate students to study Two-phase flow under developing and fully developed conditions in a circular pipe using FLUENT.
My previous job was to develop a multiphase flow meter for measuring the velocity and the volume fraction of oil, gas and water from oil wells. The project was based at Ziebel Company with some support from University. I act as a project manager to manage the technical work, writing the technical reports and chairing the meeting to discuss the progress with university and company teams.
I worked as a lecturer at University of Basrah where I taught many subjects in Thermal Engineering area including: Fluid Mechanics, Thermodynamics, Heat Transfer, Steam Power Plant, Gas turbine and supervised many undergraduate students. I spent part of time on research and published a number of papers in solar energy and Heat transfer areas. I have published 16 papers in the area of energy and multiphase flow.
I am planning to extend my research in multiphase flow area for flow in bens and other complex geometries using the CFD for simulation in addition to experimental study. I am also interested in studying the use of phase change material as storage and insulator of energy.
