Responsibilities and tasks:
•Conducted field research, gathered data and reviewed proposals for the construction of 2 associated gas processing plants projected to cost $40M – $50M.
•Participated in contract negotiations and discussions with Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC), Total Nigeria, AGIP, Chevron and marginal field operators regarding the supply and composition of associated gas for the project and the resulting reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.
•Gathered data on the status of downstream investments and identified potential off-takers for LPG (Propane and Butane), Fertilizer, Methanol and Power.
•Initiated discussions regarding the possibility of a tri-sector partnership; Chevron as the private sector partner to provide gas and community access, the IFC applying for and managing the Global environment facility (GEF) funds, and USAID using its support to the Private Finance Advisory Network and the Africa Infrastructure Program to provide technical assistance.
•Updated financial models in order to secure investment and debt finance comprising of carbon funding (CDCF), International Finance Corporation (IFC), Institutional investors, Multilateral Agencies (World Bank) and Nigerian Banks.
•Initiated discussions with DPR regarding the registration of the VDI processing plants.
