Professional Experience
CO2 compressor section
• Four stages centrifugal CO2 Compressor designed by DRESSERRAND France to raise CO2 pressure up to reaction pressure i.e., 149kg/cm2.
• Driven by multi stage condensing impulse Turbine of 10MW
• Modern self-controlling device is electronic Woodward governor.
• Bentley Nevada monitoring system.
• ESDS system for emergency shutdown provided by HIMA.
H2 converter is also introduced b/w two stages to remove Hydrogen through catalytic combustion of H2
Synthesis section
Urea synthesis section converts NH3 & CO2 into urea. This section consists of following main equipment and machines:
• Urea reactor (having 10 sieve trays) & Siphon Jet erected at each plate.
• Ammonia feed pumps (02 stage high speed Centrifugal pump driven by steam turbine) discharge pressure =175 kg/cm2
• Carbamate pumps (02 stage high speed Centrifugal pump driven by steam turbine) discharge pressure = 165 kg/cm2
• Stripper (falling film stripper using CO2 as stripping agent)
• Carbamate condenser (shell & tube type having capacity to produce L.P steam)
• HP Scrubber to scrub reactor off gases and recycle carbamate to Reactor
Purification section
To achieve 96 % urea solution concentration following equipments are used:
• Rectifying column
• Low pressure carbamate condenser
• Atm. flash separator
• Pre-Evaporator,Evaporator & Evaporation condenser
Waste water treatment section
• Double desorber [3.8-4.0 kg/cm2a] having sieve trays to avoid back mixing and solution down comers.
• A hydrolyzer to break urea to its reactants (NH3 + CO2) by using 21 kg /cm2a steam also provided with sieve trays.
• This section recovers maximum gases and recycles them to low pressure section
