Heavy Equipment Operator
Professional Experience
EXPERIENCE:
CONSTRUCTION: Worked for some top outfits at a fast pace in construction for 20 years, with no room for rookies. The dates were from 2004 back to 1977 some through the union- (Operators Engineers, Local 3) some work on side contracts. I have a print-out but it is too long to list. I’ve been operating something most my life. Most jobs were finished in 2 to 4 months, then back to the union and dispatched again, or sometimes on to the next job that is ready to start for the same company, always going where the work was. I have worked for, Granite, Granite Rock, Becktal, Preston , Duran and Venables, and a family operated business owned by my Father to start with for the first 7 years during 1977 to 1985. I pick up fast on equipment new to me and I can operate most all earth-moving equipment already (except -case controls- and road graders) and enjoy grading, with loaders, scrapers, dozers compactors and excavators, paving and concrete work (most my experience is with getting to sub-grade) I pay attention to detail, safety and can get the job done right the first time.
ASSEMBLY: I’ve worked at Sun Optics in Sacramento making skylights. With my experience working with hand tools I was quickly promoted to working with one of their top men in the production of their most complicated skylight that pops open when a fuse-link allows spring loaded doors to move during a fire situation. Many different hand tools were used every day well as table saws and wood planers.
RETAIL: I’ve worked as a gas station cashier in Fresno where I kept track of stock and accepted monies for goods, balancing the register daily while going to college from 1986 to 1988

EDUCATION: I’m a High School graduate with 3 years college studies in mathematics, construction materials, and drafting. Most class work done was towards an engineering degree and those are 4 year degrees. I was raised to be friendly and courteousand to always use good manners when dealing with anybody.

Additional Information
I've loaded many trucks with dirt, concrete, asphalt, and such, and dug literally miles of ditch. I've put together miles of pipe too and not all the same-water storm, sewer, fire protection and more. I can also use a shovel day long if need be but would rather stay on my tractor as long as I 'm busy.
I can read and write and have math skills, but writing this paper on these computers is a lot harder than pushing, digging, spreading or compacting dirt, less fun too! I can run Ford, John Deer and Cat controls on back hoes, but am not too good on a case with foot controlled swing. I can run dozers, scrapers, and compactors but not much experience on a road grader or asphalt spreader. I can run back hoes, excavators, dozers, compactors, loaders and have a class A license and will relocate nearly any where for the right job. I own a pick-up and have been 20 plus years around dirt, concrete, and asphalt and can read a tape or a surveyor’s rod equally the same. I understand grades and slopes and can operate equipment without damaging property. I'm friendly, healthy. I 5'11", weigh 235 and am Irish and English, speak only English except for a few construction words in Spanish such as: shovel, hammer, up, down, left, right, come here, and hurry up
