Sulfur Recovery and Tail Gas treatign Engineer

Steady State Operations (At present):
Working as a Shift Engineer in Sulfur Recovery & Tail Gas Treating Unit.
• Co-ordinate the maintenance jobs with service departments in the shift with complete Work Permit compliance.
• Controlling the activities during the plant emergencies, start-up and shut down by co-ordination of field and panel operators.
• Ensuring Standard Operating Procedures are being followed during the shift for routine operation of all major equipments.
• Major Equipments : Claus Air Blower, Reaction Furnace , Claus and CBA reactors, HP and LP steam generators, Steam Eductors, Incinerators, Absorber , Regenerator, Pumps, Fin Fans.

Health, Safety and Environment

• Carry out safety observation for routine maintenance and operation activities to promote safety culture.
• Total compliance of Permit to Work system through SAP and its application for various types of permits as cold work, Line break, hot work & confined space.
• Well versed with of Process Safety Management and its tools such as Process Hazard Analysis (PHA), Management of Change (MOC), Emergency Response and Control Procedure (ERCP), Pre/Post Start up Safety Review (PSSR).

Project Stage

• Review of Project documents for Sulfur Recovery Unit & Tail gas Treating Unit (BVPI, Bechtel)
• Review of P&IDs, Isometric drawings, GA drawings.
• Reviewing/ suggesting for piping modification (through SERs).
• Review of Underground systems and Aboveground Piping and Interconnectivity
• Preparation of Operation Manuals, Standard Operating Procedures, Start up Procedures, Emergency Procedures and their subsequent revision after Plant commissioning

Pre-commissioning Stage

• Preparation of Flushing plans like Chemical Cleaning, Steam Blowing, Rotomole Flushing, and Cardboard Blasting.
• Steam Blowing (a cleaning process for Steam piping) document/ procedure prepared and coordinated steam blowing.
• Burner Management System (BMS) for Claus Reaction Furnace and Incinerator. Logic checking for Cold Bed Adsorption Cycle (CBA cycle), Eductor system and Tail Gas Diversion Valves.
• Logic checking with vendor for Claus Air Blower as per cause and effect diagram.
