OPERATOR CONTROL ROOM

PANNEL CONTROL
Sonatrach, Hassi R'mel south of Algeria in Gas Compression Unite.
From JULY, 1991 up to present.

Responsibilities :
• Working within SONATRACH HSE procedures.
• Startup / Shut down of the General Electric/John Brown turbines model MS – 5002 and Pignone compressors.
• Operate and monitor the Gas Turbines ensuring plant is operated within defined parameters from the control center.
• Operate and monitor gas Turbine compressors and power generators using Mark 2, 5, and Mark 6 speedtronic.
• Tackle emergency situations and take a quick and safe corrective action in case of plant upsets.
• Monitor and identify the alarms and faults, and inform control room and shift supervisors.
• Performed shift operational activities which includes monitoring, Trouble shooting, star-up and shutdown of plant equipment.
• Continuously interact with the plant shift supervisors and senior panel operators regarding the start up and stopping of the gas turbine.
• Coordinated with Maintenance Department during equipment turn – around and maintenance activities.
• Responsible for safe and continuous operation compression unity.
• Prepare daily reports for gas turbine, fired time and operating data and events and maintain log books.
• Reported to the shift Engineer on plant operation and commissioning activities.
• Conduct housekeeping practices in plant areas.
• Carry out the job function in accordance with HSE commitment and policy to achieve strategic objectives and targets stipulated in HSE management system document.

Dec 2002: Six months training at Sonatrach perfecting center in the following of concern:

• Turbines, compressors, and pumps training.
• Gas treatment training.
• Static capacities training.
• Turbo Expander training.
• HSE training course.


• Computer literate: Microsoft Office such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access Internet, Intranet.
• Good reading P&ID and PFD.
• Knowledge of fire fighting system.
• I am very sociable person with a good communication, and I have the ability to work in multicultural environment hence applying for gas turbine operator / rover operator positions with the HSE policy and protect environment.
