Career Objective
To continue my career as a senior Stratigrapher/Micropaleontologist assisting Basin Analysis studies to generate chronostratigraphic frameworks, reservoir correlations and palaeogeography determination in E&P
Professional Experience
Ph.D. in Biostratigraphy / Chemostratigraphy and 29 years experience in the oil industry as a stratigrapher / micropalaeontologist. Ample knowledge of Micropalaeontology (foraminifera, identified in both washed residues and thin sections) for age and palaeoenvironments determination in Cretaceous, Paleogene and Neogene. Operational micropalaeontology at the well-site to determine lithostratigraphy and support operational decisions to lower risks in exploratory / production wells. Use of inorganic geochemistry, especially elemental and stable isotope studies, to chemostratigraphically characterize reservoirs and construct chronostratigraphic frameworks to carry out and/or improved well and inter-basin correlations, independently of lateral facies changes. Basin analysis and sequence biostratigraphy have been applied in combination with chemostratigraphy, to generate palaeoceanographic models that explain the accumulation of organic-rich rocks such as the La Luna and Querecual formations in Northern South America. Over 60 internal reports and 26 publications in local and international conferences and journals, have been issued. Managerial skills, team work and facility of communication, either in English or Spanish. Proficient in Microsoft Professional Office, Petrel (Introductory) and Adobe Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, ImageReady, Acrobat).
