Piping Engineer

I have total 8 years of thorough professional working experience in Piping engineering for Onshore Refinery project, Power plant project, Petrochemical Project and also Offshore Drill ship/FPSO project.

1) In Piping Design(Onshore/Offshore): Preparation of

• Engineering Design Basis (Piping).
• Various Specification for Piping Material (PMS), Valve Material (VMS), Insulation, Painting, Fabrication and Erection etc.
• Area Division Drawings, Equipment layout, Piping General Arrangement Drawing, Layout of Steam Tracing and Input for Electrical Tracing
• Drawing Schedule & Job Progress Report.
• Isometrics, Equipment Trims and System Isometrics
• Pipe support drawings, Hole Plan drawings, support location plan drawings.
• Package for IBR (Indian Boiler Regulation) Approval.
• Nozzle Orientation Drawing, Vessel Clip Drawing.
• Pipe spool drawings & Isometric drawings.

2) In Procurement / Tendering for Piping:
• Piping Material Take-Off (MTO).
• Preparation of Material Requisitions, Technical Bid Analysis, TQs & Purchase Requisitions.
• Review / Approval of Vendor Drawings.
• Preparation of tender inputs including Schedule of Rates and Man-hour Estimatation.


3) Preparation of scope of work, Progress schedule.
4) Calculation of Pipe Wall Thickness , Requirement of Branch Reinforcement & Miter Thickness Calculation
5) Commenting on Equipment Drawing/ Data sheets/ Structural Drawing
6) Design and Selection of Pipe Clips, Supports & Spring Support.
7) Technical Evaluation of New Vendors.
8) Documents control & Management.
9) Done Piping Flexibility Analysis by CAESAR-II.
10) Review the piping model in PDMS.





11) Code & Standard:
• Working exposure with piping related ASTM, BS, API, ASME, IS & OISD codes & standard.
• Working exposure with offshore related DNV (Done training on “Offshore General System” from DNV.), ABS, RMRS codes & standard.

12) In Engineering Management :
• Co-ordination between Client, Vendor, Contractor and Construction team.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

13) Computer Literacy:
• Microsoft Office (Excellent in Word & Exls.), Auto-CAD, CAESAR-II, PDMS.

14) In Inspection & NDT:
• Done NDT ASNT LEVEL –II in Ultrasonic Testing.
• Various NDT testing (DPT, UT, MPT, RT) surveyed for Horton Sphere, H2 Bullet, heat Exchanger, vessels & pipes etc.
• Inspections of fusion weld joints for HDPE, MDPE pipe.
• Inspection of various materials like Pipe & Tube, Valves, AC Pipes, Fire Safety materials and Refractory material etc.

I am Graduated with 1st Class in 2003 from Reigonal Engineering College, Jaipur, India [ Malaviya National Institute of Technology (MNIT)].
