Project: Understanding the supply chain and mapping best practices in international logistics – a case study of Cairn India
Studied the process of logistics and supply chain of oil and gas industry, specifically international logistics based on INCOTERMS
Key observations and learning:
Observed the role of supply chain in delivering the product to production plants, after procurement
Learnt about the process and types of documentation required – Essential Certificate (EC) approval by Directorate General of Hydrocarbons (DH), use of appropriate INCOTERM, interplay of responsibilities of buyer and seller
Explored the handling of explosives and agencies involved in regulating the movement of Dangerous Goods (DG)
Studied the Project Authority Certificate (PAC) and custom clearance procedures

Project: Survey of dissolved acetylene gas in Delhi
Surveyed the effect of dissolved acetylene gas, used in infrastructure projects
Key observations and learning:
Conducted on-site surveys at DMRC, various steel factories in Okhla, Naraina Iron market and others
Observed the type and quantity of gas was being used for cutting jobs
Observed that dissolved acetylene gas is costly & availability is again a big concern

Studied the marketing strategy and implementation of IOCL XTRA reward card for commercial vehicles
Key observations and learning:
First-hand experience in selling this product to end customer
Understanding customer’s usage pattern and educating them about the benefits of the card to help them make a favorable decision about signing up for the card
Sold 256 number of cards in 8 weeks

Project: Fleet card
Studied the marketing strategy and implementation of IBP Fleet card for transporters
Key observations and learning:
First-hand experience in selling this product to end customer
Educating customer about the benefits of the card – including location tracking of drivers, trip information and fuel usage information – which would give transporters better control on their fleet
Sold 180 number of cards in 4 weeks
