• Developed a Microsoft Excel based programme for commercial and industrial painting project estimating for contracting businesses.
• Project managed all phases of major oil and gas, marine and industrial coating and insulation contracts including day to day supervision of the workforce, project status meetings, quotations and reporting to senior management.
• Tracking of the project status and movement of work pieces for coatings readiness and completion.
• Developed a quality assurance/control documentation regime for giving accurate details and up to date accounts of the inspection of industrial protective coatings projects.

Professional Responsibilities
• Develop and review coating procedures and inspection and test plans.
• Ensure client verification and contractor inspection and coatings manufacturer representative inspection of applied corrosion protection and fireproofing systems - inclusive of protective coatings, thermal spray coatings.
• Verify contractor’s compliance with design drawings, specifications, procedures and inspection and test plans.
• Review coatings specification and identify omissions and clarifications.
• Formulate quality control training programs as required.
• Ensure SHI compile full and accurate reports of all coating activities.
• Resolve contractor’s technical queries with concurrence from structural and engineering site leads.
• Understand the project schedule and be proactive in assessing where activities could impact the planned progress advising the HST leads.
• Perform contractor and subcontractor quality and safety qualification audits with recommendation for approval.
• Familiarize self with design drawings, specifications, applicable codes, standards and practices and project quality plan.
• Actively support coordination / progress meeting with agenda to facilitate meeting execution.
• Oversee the preparation, tracking and completion of contractor’s coatings punch list.
• Document and communicate Lessons Learned in all above responsibilities.

Completed a high school education at Wanganui Boys College in N.Z. in 1969 obtaining certificate passes in maths, English, geography and history, with a commendation for technical drawing.
