Duties: To log the rock types contained within the drilled cuttings at the well site, monitor the well and maintain sensors and data acquisition equipment;
- To assist in efficient well information acquisition of wells during well operation activities concerned with researching hydrocarbons and other products;
- To examine and describe samples according to oil industry standards and clients specifications and examine for hydrocarbon shows;
- To assist in core recovery and core description when required and to be responsible for communicating any information that helps maintain Primary Well Control and general well integrity- cuttings sizes and shape, lack of cuttings whilst drilling, gas cut mud and visual inspection of gas sampling apparatus at the shakers;
- monitoring the well and proactively communicates pit level and flow alarm information to the drilling contractor and the client;
- To supervise Mud loggers and Sample Catchers (when provided) and assist Company's trainees assigned to the operation;
- To be aware of safety regulations and procedures, as specified by the client, Company, relevant safety authorities and respect safety regulations in all;
- To ensure that the Corporate Safety Policy is applied throughout all mud logging activity and that all crew have and use all necessary Personnel Protective Equipment

Duties: Geological data, obtained by physical examination of drilled cuttings
Hydrocarbon (reservoir and source) data, from analysis of drilled gases and mud hydrocarbon content
Surface drilling data (including mechanical, hydraulic, and engineering parameters), to help maintain safety,
balance formation fluid pressures, optimize the drilling process and control drilling costs.
Downhole drilling data; integrate parameters from other sources, such as logging-while-drilling or
Electric logs which will complement the information provided.
With this combination drilling data engineer provides – Drilling supervisor , Well site Geologist with the
broadest possible picture to assist in critical decision making.
