Honeywell Global Tech Support Engineer
I’ve worked in engineering since leaving school in 1976, and now currently working as a member of the Honeywell Global Tech Support team. I’m based at Honeywell Enraf UK Ltd in Fareham. My primary role is customer support, providing technical solutions to any enquiries regarding the Additive & Blending equipment that we manufacture in Fareham.
I also provide technical advice to the engineering, manufacturing, sales, service and quality departments.
Due to the nature of the business I have a good understand of the requirement that have to be meet when providing hazardous area products to the petrochemical industry. Including ATEX, IECEx and PED, and Machinery directive.
Core business at the moment is providing solutions for detergent injection, Ethanol & Biodiesel blending into fuel, for the major petroleum companies. I work on both electrical and mechanical design from simple single units to extensive PLC controlled systems.
Career History
I have worked for the same company under different ownership, previously Lubrizol and before that Hyrolec, since 1992. Eight years as a service engineer before moving into the engineering dept as a project engineer.
Prior to 1992 I spent twelve years in the Royal Navy serving in both surface ship and nuclear submarines. Achieving the rate of Chief Petty Office, CPOMEA(EL). 1990 to 1992 was spent as an instructor at HMS Sultan, Royal Naval Marine Engineering School.
