Key Responsibilities:

• Accountable for tripping pipe using slips, tongs and elevators and making connections while drilling.
• Responsible for the general maintenance of draw works, rotary on rig floor.
• Inspecting snub lines, tongs, valves, slips, dies and safety equipment on the rig floor.
• Instrumental in running casing, tubing and drill pipes on the rig floor.
• Adept at laying down drill pipes from rig floor to catwalk.
• Monitoring mud weight ,viscosity and sand weight from shakers while drilling
• Providing assistance in maintenance of mud pumps, shale shakers, de-sander, de-silter and degasser units and rig crew during rig move, Nipple BOP- up and down.
• Involved in chipping, painting and housekeeping on the rig floor and using chain tongs while working with tubular.
• Accountable for assisting in mixing drilling mud during mud losses
• Responding to emergency situations on the rig and following the procedure for the type of emergency.
• Responsible for changing drill bit at intervals as per instructions.
• Monitoring hole fill-ups while pulling out of hole, lining up trip tanks, operating air- hoists, checking for leaks on BOP stack and measuring pipe.
• Involved in operating drill tong, spinner, slips as well as drill pipe joints.
• Played a key role in following safety procedure and company policy while working on the rig floor.
• • Assisting in rescue operations for injuries and evacuations on rig and reporting to the driller and assistant driller on duty.

Roustabout (Jul 2005 – May 2007)

Key Responsibilities:

• Deftly reporting to the barge master/crane operator on the rig.
• Involved in assisting crane operator for offloading and back loading equipment on and off the rig and general house- keeping on the rig.
• Responsible for chipping and painting of rusted decks and structures on the rig and relieving roughnecks on the drill floor.
• Instrumental in assisting the drill crew while running in casing, tubing and drill pipe from cat walk.
• Adept at following safety rules and procedures while working on the rig.
