1 years Chemical Engineer

Career Objective

I am very eager to apply what I have learned. I believe that my background in Chemical Engineering coupled with my well-developed skill set will be an ideal synergy for an entry level position in the Oil, Gas industry or petrochemicals and polymers.

Professional Experience

Work Experience: Fall 2008
I worked with MESA program "Mathematics Engineering Science Achievement" at Long Beach California as TA at CSULB. My job duties were to teach the middle school students at various locations the objective of learning about engineering and science. One of the job description had me directing students through simple engineering projects such as making a car using a mousetrap and CDs or building a miniature catapult that would have a projectile reach a certain distance. Another fun and creative project I helped coordinate was the construction of a bridge that required a tension of 100 lb with building materials that included only a specific amount of ice cream sticks and specific kinds of glue. Those were a few of many projects I helped to direct during my time there. I participated in MESA for about 4 months and during my stay, I was able to apply much of the curriculum I had learned in the classroom as well as develop a strong leadership role in the workforce.

Hands-On Project Experience:

This was a class competition involving the construction of the fastest simple electric motor. The motor’s design was based on the individual but was limited to the materials that could be used. Through careful evaluations and my ability to understand the concept of the physics behind the DC motor, I was able to accomplish the second fastest average speed and was first in rank for the instantaneous speed of my DC engine.
