IT Service Manager – Shell Information Technology Ltd, Aberdeen, UK

Reporting to the Subsurface and Storage Service Manager, the role incorporates Service Management of a LTO tape based data archiving service running on an application called PARS - a solution developed by Enigma Data Solutions - for an International Oil Company. The PARS service contains archives of over a total of 3,000 GB of subsurface and oil & gas data globally. The role includes ensuring the integrity of the data and storage media for periods greater than ten years so that valuable technical exploration data can be restored at any point in time. Global team management of 5 technical service engineers based in Houston, Amsterdam and Malaysia.


IT Operations Manager – Shell Information Technology International, Rijswijk, Netherlands

Reporting to the WPG GEC Service Manager I was responsible for the operational management of a Microsoft Windows desktop service for five hundred users, and a customized Open BSD desktop service for an International Oil Company, and managing a team of ten service engineers and technical specialists through a major IT Program of development ($4 million) and a period of significant infrastructure and process change as the entire service was completely rebuilt with new technology from the ground up. This included managing and maintaining the existing service as well as being the subject matter expert for the project team. I received an internal Shell award for my work outsourcing the Service Desk.
