Materials and Logistics Manager

To secure a long term position in a Materials and Logistics management role in the Oil and Gas sector.

Responsible for the operational effectiveness of the Materials and Logistics department, including establishing KPI’s, SLA’s and ensuring compliance. I am responsible for ensuring the delivery of warehouse and distribution services is achieved on time and within budget. I am fully responsible for the department operating budget (currently in excess of $20m). I have full responsibility for the negotiation and placing of service orders for manpower rates, maintenance services, vehicle hire, land rates, waste disposal and lifting equipment.

I am responsible for the Supply Chain from receipt to delivery (utilizing the ERP system Navision) including the Reverse Supply Chain and Hazardous Waste management. I am responsible for optimising stock, eliminating waste and ensuring KPI’s are met from receipt to pick to delivery. I have responsibility for the identification and disposal of surplus inventory and project stock to ensure the most cost efficient operation. Throughout the initial implementation phase of the introduction of SAP, I have been involved in the process mapping of all Materials and Logistic processes, identifying waste areas with a view to eliminating the waste and streamlining the processes befitting a lean organisation. Additional responsibilities include the contract monitoring of food delivery, site maintenance, all mechanical handling equipment and supervision of transport delivery for the department. I have responsibility for ensuring the most cost effective and efficient distribution of materials from multi location distribution centres to offshore locations (4 Drilling Rigs and over 26 platforms), vendors and international customers.

I have extensive leadership training which has now been proved in both the public and private sectors. I am responsible for Operational Excellence through leadership and ultimately team performance. I have the ability to inspire, guide and coach staff towards turning out a performance that is beyond expectations. I have also been responsible for building a team of professionals and retaining the right talent for the future strategic direction and preparation for the introduction of SAP. My unrelenting drive, ambition and determination to succeed allows me to asses weaknesses in supply chains, identify areas for improvement and present solutions as best practice.
