Western Desert Gas Complex, Alexandria - Egypt March 2009 till Present
The complex is the first NGL plant in Egypt producing the ethane propane mixture for petrochemical industry. The plant receives & treats 900 MMSCFD of western desert gases to produce Ethane/Propane mixture, commercial propane, LPG and Condensate.
o Electrical Maintenance and Substation Operation Engineer
- EATON HOLEC 11KV, 6.6 KV, 400 V Switch Gear Operation & Maintenance.
- GE Multilin digital Protection relays.
- LV & MV motors O&M.
- BENNING UPS (2x60 KVA) and BENNING battery chargers O&M.
- Earthing, Lightning protection systems & cathodic protection.
- Perform 5 years maintenance of MV vacuum C.Bs & MV switchgear.
- Prepare the annual maintenance plan for plant electrical equipment.
- Prepare Annual materials requisitions.
- MAXIMO Computerized Maintenance Management software.
- Basic knowledge of HVAC systems ( Chiller water , DX units).
o Commissioning & Start up of “MAXIMIZATION of C2/C3 from WDGF” project.
- EATON 11 KV, 400V SWG.
- Convel & AEG UPS.
- Interconnections between Electrical S/S and control room.
- Prosernat/Manturbo Refrigeration package compressors ( 3x 5MW,11KV
motors).
- Starting 5 MW motor using Siemens Perfect Harmony VFD.
o Commissioning & Start up of “New Feed” project.
- Siemens SGT-600 Turbine & Kraftelektronik UMD system.
- Extension of EATON LV SWG.
- Modification of SCADA system communication from Modbus to Ethernet.
o Health, Safety and Environmental
- Work Permits and electrical isolation certificates (lock-out tag-out
system).
- Emergency Plans, Fire Fighting, Electrical Safety trainings.
o Participate in 3 Total Shutdown activities
- Extension of LV Switchgear.
- UPS Shutdown to install new Distribution Panel.
- MV & LV Switchgear maintenance.

- Effect of Earth leakage currents in UPS loads.
- Successive starting of Air Compressor motors.
- Improve lighting system of Main S/S (Design using Dialux software).
