HSE Specialist

Protection of the human element of risk & injury resulting from working environment. Provision and implementation of all requirements of the Occupational Safety & Health.

Ensure compliance with the requirements Environment Agency by implementing and maintaining Environmental Health and Safety Management System;
Preparing environmental, health and safety strategies and developing the internal policy;
Implementing EHSMS objectives, targets and practices;
Monitoring EHS activities at various locations;
Carrying out risk assessments and considering how risks can be reduced;
Outlining safe operational procedures which identify and take account of all relevant hazards; Making changes to environmental practices that are safe and comply with legislation;
Carrying out regular site inspections to check policies and procedures are being properly implemented;
Internal reporting of EHS performance;
Conducting in-house training with managers and employees about Environment, Health & Safety issues and risks;
Keeping records of inspections findings and producing reports that suggest improvements;
Keeping records of environmental incidents and occupational accidents and producing statistics for managers;
Keeping up to date with new legislation and maintaining a working knowledge of all environments, health and safety legislation and any developments that affect the environment, workers and employees;
Producing management reports, newsletters and bulletins;
Managing and organizing the safe disposal of hazardous substances, e.g. asbestos, etc;
Advising on a range of specialist areas, e.g. fire regulations, hazardous substances, noise, safeguarding machinery and occupational diseases.
