Key Responsibilities & Achievements;
During my internship period I obtained practical knowledge, skills and technique in:-
Supervising reception of excavated trona as way of achieving quality soda ash.
Monitoring washing process from the time of grounded trona reception, controlling the process variables to enable a proper washing of the trona and removal of impurities such as NaCl and NaF to the set limits and standards.
Monitoring the drying process by controlling the moisture contents to avoid over formation of rings in the kilns and lumps of un-dried crushed refined soda.
Supervising the drying process varying the temperature and pressure to achieve the desired moisture content with advice from the Quality Assurance.
Supervising the packaging process and understanding the various packaging materials to sustain the integrity of the product from the time of packaging to time of use.
