Electrical Design Engineer

Key Responsibilities and Achievements:

• Designing of Electrical system and Fire and Gas system for Off/On-shore Oil & Gas Project and Hazardous area installations as per DNV 2.7.2 standards, IEC 60079-14 and client specifications.
• Job profile includes preparation of Electrical Single Line Diagrams, load schedules, equipments schedule, Distribution boards schedule, Lighting schedules, Cable schedules, Cable tray layout, Fire detection system layout and schematic diagram.
• Design of Electrical system, Combined Pressurization and Fire and Gas system(CPFG) system and Intrinsic safety circuits for wellhead buildings like MWD units, Well Testing and Acquisition Cabin(WTAC), Mudlogging units, offshore accommodation buildings, A60 rated accommodation and office buildings.
• Selection of Explosion proof equipments, Fire and Gas detection system for Hazardous area.
• Designing of Electrical system and Fire and Gas system for Non-rated (safe area) units like onshore rig camps, QX express trailers and Trailer mounted camps.
Aug’ 07 To Jun’11 Specialist Service Dubai U.A.E Electrical Designer
Key Responsibilities and Achievements:

• Preparation of Electrical, Fire & Gas , Telecom Layout for Wellhead Buildings for Wireline, Measurement While Drilling (MWD) for Zone-1 & 2, Mudlogging units, Driller Control Rooms, A60 Accommodation, Living Quarters for Onshore and Offshore Multi National Oil Field Companies.
• Preparation of preliminary drawings of Electrical, Fire & Gas, Telecom Layout such as Lighting and Small Power System, Fire & Gas Detector Layout with its corresponding Single line diagram & Load Schedule. Also includes preparation of Cable schedule, Cable tray, Cable Routing , MCT Layout & Schedule for Living Quarters for Offshore Platforms as per Client specification.
• Responsible for making and issuing Electrical Shop Drawings and Installation details for the Projects.
• To prepare Electrical Bill of Materials as per Layout and handing over to the concerned.
• To attend technical meeting to discuss with clients on clarifying issues related to projects submittals and documentations.
• To update and clarify issues that may arises during production to the concerned.

Bachelor Of Science in Electrical Engineering (2008-2011) – West Coast University, Panama.

Diploma in Electrical & Electronics Engineering (1999-2002) from Thai Moggamibikai Polytechnic, in Tamil Nadu Govt. Chennai, India First Class with Honours.
