Responsibilities & Main Achievements

• During these periods I was in charge of technical specifications, system analysis, fault studies, protection settings calculations, relay logic configuration, design and engineering of protection and control schemes up to 400 kV voltage level.
• Assist in, commissioning of new projects equipments and checking the relay setting calculations for new projects, analyzing of various incidents and review the performance of protection & metering functions in those cases and implement necessary corrective measures.
• Responsible for all the operational activities relating to the transmission department (commissioning, operation and maintenance of the high voltage plant and associated secondary equipment which includes protection and metering)
• Direct all transmission system fault investigation and incident reporting.
• I was named as a member with the testing & commissioning committee for substations of 400/220/66/33 kV as I was named as member with testing & commissioning factory acceptance test ( FAT) of protective relays & SCADA Systems of 400/220 kV
• Trainer at GECOL training center, Oil & Gas Companies working in Libya, some private training centers and as Lecturer at some Institutes of Electrical Power Engineering (1998-2010)

I was involved in the following projects:
• Defense plan study for the West Libya- East Libya interconnection network in collaboration with RED ELECTRICA international (Spain)
• Dynamic behavior and defense plan study for Libyan electrical power system in collaboration with CESI (consulting office) Italy
• Study of power system protection co-ordination for transmission & sub-transmission Libyan networks in collaboration with Siemens PTD SE company
• I was named as team leader in studying of Operation Standards for Protective Devices on Distributed Electricity System in Libya in collaboration with KEPCO company (KOREA)
• Preliminary FACTS study of 220 kV network for southern Libya
