Senior Petroleum Engineer, Base Management Team, GUPCO March 2006- Present
I am currently working in the North Central team in GUPCO/BP. Below are my roles and tasks:
• Drilling Activities
o Followed-up on daily drilling operations which included discussing the wells problems with the drilling team, making sure that well integrity is maintained and the required SoR (statement of requirements) objectives were achieved.
o Initiated SoRs and integrated inputs from geologists, reservoir engineers and drilling engineers.
• Monitoring wells’ and field’s performance:
o Prepared the field’s surveillance plan and executing the area’s surveillance plans and troubleshooting plans .
o Modeled wells’ performance using the nodal analysis method, Prosper and GAP for well optimization
o Prepared Wells’ start up and testing programs.
o Used monitoring techniques and real time surveillance data to monitor the ESP wells and to identify opportunities to improve wells’ performance.
o Lead the team to deliver each quarter’s production and injection targets.
• Prepared programs for all rigless operations and followed up on the progress:
o Pressure survey (static, flowing, PBU).
o Cased hole logging (PSP, RST, WFL, Cement Evaluation, etc..).
o Stimulation and acid wash (acidizing /fracturing).
o Perforation & re-perforation job.
o CTU application (unloading, stimulation, fishing, etc..).
o Water shut off using TTBP.
• Safety and Integrity:
o Modeled the wells to identify the high risk wells
o Developed plans to secure the high risk wells and put them back on production
• Interpret Open hole and cased hole logs to identify the net pay in the sands and perforate the target intervals
• Performed Gas lift design, redesign and trouble shooting.
• Assisted in preparing complete field studies and development plans.
• Prepared daily, monthly and yearly field and activities report and other required paperwork
• Work with corrosion and integrity engineers to choose the proper chemical injection to avoid casing corrosion
• Coordinate well by well reviews to identify opportunities and open shut in wells
• Hold meetings with E.G.P.C for P&A, cement squeeze, add perforations and new well delivery approvals
• Facilitate and accelerate paper work for contracts extensions with service companies ( SLB, REDA, SETCORE and Weatherford)
